Message So I bought replacement speakers (Alpine). I realized after research, that the Bose had pre-amps as you pointed out, so I needed to bypass this device installed by the previous owner that converted the high output of the head-unit to the low power the bose was expecting.

I never had noise issues before I installed gauges, by the way. Now I've got noise. I beefed up the ground a 3rd time and have it going to the frame behind the radio (there is a OEM for this), as well as connecting the clock ground to the same connection.

The tone of the static changed to a solid hum now, but it is still noise. I tend to agree...whatever I did with the gauges isn't going to go away unless I remove the Bose speakers....is my guess anyway.
